Board, applied for a pension on May 28th, 1930 as a widow of the late Confederacy under acts approved March 25th, 1928 and March 10th, 1928. She was 92 years old at the time and had lived in Virginia her entire life, and had lived in Roanoke for the previous 20 years.She stated she was married in Bedford County on April 21st, 1858 by a Reverend Atmore. Her husband died in June of 1913 in Roanoke City of heart trouble. She stated her husband had been the Captain of Company E, 28th Virginia Regiment under Colonel Wingfield. She also stated she owned no real or personal property and had a yearly income of $400. Her application was approved on June 16th, 1930. |
