Lewis Blish was a cotton mill operative, and later became a
superintendent. He was a genial man, devoted to his home and
family.
Lewis Blish is mentioned in the USS Constitution's log of 1 Aug 1865.
He would have been 36 years of age at the time of the log entry, so
it is very likely that he is not one of the crew.
A summary of log entry located by genealogist CBB in 1999
is:
Paymaster's Steward Porter D. Morris, Ship's Corporal Chas Howland, and
Seamen Thos Clark and Jno McCue AWOL at Newport — Lewis Blish mentioned —
loading Academy furniture for transport.
